Another week has come and gone. Physically, this week was great! All of the workouts felt great—even the running ones. I felt strong in the weightlifting portions, and I can tell that I am making some progress. For my main meal prep this week, I went with an all-time favorite recipe from the Practical Paleo cook book—bacon wrapped chicken thighs with a smokey spice blend. This spice blend is my go to and tastes great on everything from air fried chicken wings to pork loin, but especially bacon wrapped chicken thighs!
While this week was physically great, it was rough in other areas. Puppy training is exhausting. On top of that, the scale went up Saturday and did not move until Thursday morning. Each time I stepped on the scale, I groaned and replayed the previous day over and over in my head trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. Was I eating too much? Was I not eating enough? I had to stop and remind myself that I didn't get myself to where I was over night—it's a slow process. We did more heavy weightlifting in CrossFit this week than we had been doing so it could probably be because I'm building muscle at the same time that I'm burning fat. After telling myself that, I took a look at my progress pictures that Abrie takes for me every month. I may not be exactly where I want to be, and probably have a while until I get there, but those pictures and measurements put things into perspective. I can't believe how far I've come and can't wait to see what this last half of the program holds for me.
